“When we bought our first home, we had a lot of ideas about how we wanted to improve the space but no idea how to do it or even if it would be possible. Then we met Dan and knew immediately that he would be able to make our vision for the house come true. Dan is a real collaborator, able to break down your ideas into practical pieces and put it all together. He also has an incredible eye for detail and style and works with a crew of the most talented craftspeople from tile to cabinet-making. Since we first started working with Dan, he's helped us with a complete kitchen & bathroom remodel, an outdoor deck renovation, and a large retaining wall. Every time we've worked with him it's been such a pleasure...we recommend him to every homeowner we meet!”

“Dan Campbell, the multi-talented founder and general contractor at Stile Construction, is an expert on everything home-building, especially when it comes to old houses. He understands intimately their unique character, inherent charm, and as is often the case: the challenges that come with age. We can’t emphasize Dan’s can-do, positive attitude enough, that sparks from his years of experience in the field with countless projects. We’ve been working with Dan and his experienced crew at Stile Construction for years now, ever since they restored and renovated our 1912 California bungalow in the canyons overlooking Los Angeles.
The first time we hired Stile Construction was in 2022, for the thorough restoration of our cabin in the canyons of the Pasadena area. We’d heard of Dan’s amazing work on historic homes in the area from a trusted colleague, and found him absolutely wonderful to work with. Dan became our collaborator on every aspect of our restoration and renovation project. From the conceptual design of detailed historic pieces, to the overall aesthetic of the house, to small decisions such as what materials to choose. He spans the breadth of talent from detailed decisions to the big picture, seamlessly.
Dan has a brilliant eye for detail and quality when it comes to old homes, and he works with an equally talented team, many of whom he’s been working with for decades now. They, too, are a delight to work with. We were fortunate to have lunch with them on a few occasions in our rustic backyard during the course of our project, and were able to collaborate with each of the subs in such positive and timely ways. Dan and his entire team of knowledgeable, punctual, and hardworking crew were amazing to collaborate with. They completed everything on a timely basis and with great attention to detail. They restored and rebuilt, from the studs, our entire little California bungalow including our gorgeous eat-in kitchen, the bathroom with two sun filled skylights, our primary bedroom with original 1912 Douglas Fir beams, our living room with vaulted ceilings, the white oak hardwood floors, the fireplace, and our extra bedrooms.
We can’t emphasize Dan’s encouraging and collaborative attitude enough; he tackles everything with a calm, reassuring smile and infectious laugh. He always offers a number of practical and art-filled solutions no matter how big or small an idea that comes up in the course of restoring and renovating an old home. Construction, renovation, and restoration can be a stressful experience from start to finish, so having such a collaborative, experienced, can-do contractor is a huge benefit. We’ve since hired Stile Construction for a number of projects over the years, including to re-do sections of our side yard, to construct a gorgeous deck off the side of our kitchen, and to add embellishments to our original 1912 bathroom and kitchen. We wouldn’t hire any other contractor. We unequivocally, with gusto, recommend Dan Campbell and Stile Construction for your next project!”

"After a devastating fire forced me and my disabled daughter out of our home, I cannot believe my good luck in being referred to Dan Campbell. My neighbor told me Dan is the only person he would trust to rebuild his home. Dan has moved everything along and made the process easy and fun. While dealing with insurance companies is never a picnic, Dan has worked with me and the adjuster to document all necessary work. I was reluctant to remodel my kitchen due to having found every dishonest and incompetent contractor on the planet for previous work, but after the fire I had no choice. Dan is the shining example of something rarer than a hen’s tooth: an honest, talented and smart contractor. He works with a great crew of subcontractors who are equally talented and always polite and helpful.
Communication: Dan is on the job site most days and in good communication with me and his crew on days he is not. He is easy to reach by phone, text, and email. Crew: Highest quality work, always respectful, hard-working and on time. Dan pays his crew fair wages, pays them on time, carries liability insurance and workers comp, and they are loyal and work hard for him in return. Quality of work: Dan knows every element of construction and ensures work by his crew and subcontractors is done to the highest standards. Collaborative: Dan will work with you to meet your needs even if he has never had these requests before. (He might laugh at you and tell you NO ONE HAS EVER ASKED FOR THIS BEFORE and tell all his friends how weird you are, but in the end he will do it.) Speed: Dan uses every available down-time (e.g., rain, waiting for an inspection) to work on other needed portions of the project. Honesty: Dan is an ethical and honest person. He is a family man and will take care of your family too.
Fearless: Dan used to ride bulls….He is a little afraid of inspectors, but not much."
